Garmin has introduced the fēnix 3 Sapphire Titanium and tactix Bravo, which it calls “the ultimate active man’s timepiece.” 

The fēnix 3 Sapphire Titanium GPS sport watches combine advanced fitness training, outdoor navigation and smart features with a high quality scratch-resistant sapphire lens and a Titanium watch bezel and band for the best weight to durability ratio. The light weight Titanium bezel with integrated EXO antenna provides enhanced positioning through GPS and GLONASS reception. Garmin notes that the watch can be customised with free watch faces, apps and widgets from Connect IQ, while anadditional black UV-treated silicone band is also included. The Garmin fēnix 3 Sapphire Titanium is set to retail for R14 999 in South Africa.

According to Garmin, the tactix Bravo multisport training GPS watch combines specialised tactical functionality with smart features for fitness training and outdoor navigation, all in a stylish, everyday watch. An all-black, rugged and durable design is built for the tactical environment, while dual-mode operation optimises the sunlight-readable display for day use or night vision goggle compatibility. Tactical features include a dedicated tactical activity profile, Jumpmaster activity, projected waypoints and dual-format position format GPS Coordinate Data Page that supports MGRS, Degrees Minutes Seconds and more. The Garmin tactix Bravo will cost R12 999 in South Africa.

These are not the only new products the company has recently launched, with the Index Smart Scale with connected features also receiving a local introduction. The Index is a connected scale that displays a number of key measurements, including weight, Body Mass Index (BMI), body fat and water percentage, and muscle mass and bone mass. Index is Wi-Fi connected, allowing you to wirelessly sync your data to Garmin Connect, the company’s free online fitness community. At garminconnect.com or in the Garmin Connect mobile application, users can see your data in more detail and review your progress against your goals.

Up to 16 people can be recognised by Index and have their body composition metrics automatically uploaded directly to their own Garmin Connect accounts. The Garmin Index Smart Scale will retail for R2 899 in South Africa.
