Acer today announced that it would release a new updated line of its Acer Aspire TimelineX notebooks. The TimelineX series already sports some of the strongest notebooks in the Acer arsenal, so an update should see the performance increase substantially.

First up, Acer claims that the Aspire TimelineX 1830T now sports a longer eight-hour battery life, giving the device true full day battery power. In addition, the notebook can now be purchased with an insanely powerful Intel Core i7 680UM CPU equipped with Intel Turbo Boost technology.

"Our new Aspire TimelineX 1830T delivers a rare combination of ultra-mobility and superb performance using an Intel Core i7 processor that gives customers enormous capabilities in a highly compact design," said Pete Daily, senior manager of product marketing, Acer notebooks.

The three additional TimelineX models, the 13.3” 3820T, 14” 4820T and 15.6” 5820T, have also been updated to offer the best balance of performance and mobility, available in new Intel Core i3 and i5 CPU options. The 4820T and 5820T's memory capacity is also increased from 4 GB to 8 GB.

All new Aspire TimelineX models share a common attribute in their CineCrystal LED-backlit displays featuring 16:9 HD True Cinematic View giving users stunning views from all angles. The new models also sport HDMI 1080p outputs, allowing for HD content to be viewed with a single cable connection.

The new Acer Aspire TimelineX models comes with a standard one-year parts and labour warranty which can be extended to three years with Acer's Advantage service.

The new models have just been released in the United States, so South African consumers should expect to wait for a local release. No information is available as of yet, but keep checking back for the latest updates.
