Asus introduced its new Core Unlocker technology on their latest M4A89 Series- and AMD 800 chipset-based motherboards.

Core Unlocker allows you to easily activate latent AMD CPU cores, giving your PC an instant boost in processing power. All you have to do to activate the feature is turn on a switch located on the new M4A89 Series board, or press the 4 key during the power-on self test in existing M4 series motherboards.

The M4A89 Series is also compatible with AMD’s forthcoming 6-core Phenom II processor and ATI’s CrossFireX that offers striking graphics rendering, by allowing you to use multiple GPUs. It even supports USB 3.0 and SATA 6 Gbps transmission technology to enable really fast data transfers.

“Whether users are looking for extreme performance, exceptional value, or an affordable platform, the M4A89 Series will be able to meet all their needs,” said Joe Hsieh, general manager of Asus Motherboard Business Unit.
