Canon has announced that they are expanding their recently launched LEGRIA camcorder range to include four new series offerings. The new offerings include three high definition (HD) camcorder series, those being the LEGRIA HF S, LEGRIA HF M and LEGRIA HF R and one standard definition (SD) addition to the range, the LEGRIA FS300 SD camcorder series.
 
The LEGRIA HF S series will include the top of the range models, with features including 8 megapixel stills, a full HD CMOS sensor sporting a specially designed HD video lens, a Powered Optical Image Stabilizer mode, a 3.5" touch-screen LCD as well as dual SDHC card slots on all models.According to Canon its new gesture-based touch-screen is the largest currently available .
 
Canon’s new LEGRIA HF M camcorder range will have cameras that feature a 3.3 megapixel full HD CMOS sensor as well as a 2.7" LCD touch-screen with the same gesture-based UI as the LEGRIA HF S. Though compact and lightweight, the final new HD camcorder models, the LEGRIA HF R series, are very portable and will be suited for those who want a more affordable HD camcorder. All models in the LEGRIA FS300 series of SD camcorders feature a new Dynamic Image Stabiliser, Quick Charge function and a long battery life.
