Tariff applies to in- and out-of-bundle usage

After slashing its contract call rate prices by up to 50% in June, Cell C now turns its price clippers on its data rates. As part of its pricing revamp, the company has reduced its standard data rate to 15 cent per MB for in and out-of-bundle usage across its entire data product portfolio.

This new flat rate applies to all prepaid and contract data bundles and packages as of today (1 August 2012). Cell C CEO Alan Knott-Craig explained that the company has reduced the rates of its standard data offerings in order to suit all of its users’ needs, whether they only browse the net occasionally or were hardcore tech junkies who live on the web.

The local operator’s data bundles start from 50 MB for just R7.50, which Cell C claims is the most affordable entry-level bundle available in the market today. These bundles go all the way up to 20 GB for R3070.

Bundle and contract data pricing (prices include VAT):

“We are committed to offering customers deals that are affordable, transparent and simple. What you see is what you get. No more nasty surprises when you go out of bundle. You will pay one low rate for in-bundle and out-of-bundle usage,” stated Knott-Craig.

“In addition to the reduced standard data rates, customers can continue to look forward to very competitive promotions that we will run from time to time,” he concluded.
