First person shooter (FPS) fans are hotly anticipating the release of Electronic Art’s (EA's) Crysis 2 in March this year.

The original game, playing off in the jungle landscapes of North Korea, set the bar for FPS graphics, while the forthcoming title, set in war-torn New York City,  looks set to continue in its bullet laden path.

The minimum specifications for the PC version (the game will also be released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360) of the game have been posted (in German though, as it’s from EA Germany) on the Crysis page on Facebook.

For a game looking this good (video posted below), the minimum specifications for the PC version aren’t ridiculously high as one would expect, but then again these are the minimum components you’d need just to be able to run it.

The system requirements for the PC version are as follows:

• Internet connection for installation and play
• OS: XP / Vista / Windows 7
• CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 2 GHz, AMD Athlon 64 X2 2 GHz and higher
• 2 GB RAM
• Hard-disk drive: 9 GB of free space
• DVD ROM: 8x speed
• GPU: Nvidia 8800GT with 512 Mb RAM, ATI 3850HD with 512 Mb RAM or better
• Audio: DirectX 9.0c-compatible
• Keyboard, mouse or the Microsoft Xbox 360 controller for Windows

The previous version was notoriously heavy on resources, so users can look forward to some serious strain on their systems when Crysis 2 hits the shelves. Video follows after the break.
