Despite the fact that his England career is all but over, British football star David Beckham has been appointed as the official brand ambassador for EA Sports Active 2, which is a range of interactive fitness products that sports personalised and customisable workout routines.

The free kick specialist will feature in advertisements and retail box materials across Europe as well as Australia and will act as the franchise spokesperson.

“EA SPORTS Active is impressive and includes many elements that I have seen throughout my football career,” stated Beckham. “I’m excited to collaborate with EA SPORTS who have a great track record in developing authentic and credible sports products and games over the years.”

EA Sports Active 2 will be released for the Xbox 360 with support for Kinect, PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii, Apple iPhone and iPod touch in Europe as well as Australia on 19 November. No SA release date has been announced yet.
