Bafana Bafana might have shown their readiness for the 2010 FIFA World Cup this weekend by beating Denmark, but according to Electronic Arts (EA) the trophy is going to Spain.

EA used their 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa football game engine, in order to simulate the 2010 FIFA World Cup and test all 32 teams under the same conditions that they are going to face in the forthcoming tournament. According to the game company, ‘The Red Fury’, Spain, will defeat Brazil 3-1 at Soccer City on 11 July to claim their first World Cup.

Tournament hosts, South Africa are going to be eliminated first, after loosing the opening clash against Mexico (2-0) on Friday, and their remaining matches against Uruguay (2-0) and France (3-1). They will then exit the tournament without a single point and just a solitary goal to their name. Other predictions to arise out of the simulation are that the Golden Boot winner will be David Villa of Spain, after finding the back of the net seven times during the tournament, with Real Madrid’s star midfielder Kaka (Brazil) claiming the Golden Ball award. England will beat Diego Maradona’s Argentina in the 3^rd place game.
