The contentious designer Chris Bangle, who put pen to paper during the 90’s and 2000’s in order to design some of the most controversially styled BMW’s of all time, will now be bringing his creative flair to future Samsung devices.

BMW’s former chief designer is now heading to Samsung Electronics, as he has reportedly signed a deal with the Korean tech giant, which will see him create new smartphones as well as netbooks amongst other devices.

This news has been revealed by “company sources” to the Korean newspaper JOONGANG ILBO.

Bangle brought his “flame surfacing” look to many of BMW’s cars including the Z4, 5 series and probably the most notorious one of them all, the 7 series with its rather unflattering rear end. This didn’t win him many admirers in the German company’s purists circles, and he left BMW two years ago to form his own design studio Chris Bangle and Associates.
