Distributor Drive Control Corporation (DCC) has officially launched the latest HP ProBook notebook series, the 6555b, 6550b and 6450b, to the South African market. 

The HP ProBook 6555b notebook replaces the 6545b model and is a business grade notebook designed to offer the user performance at an affordable price point. It features an AMD triple core processor as well as 4 GB of RAM.
 
"What is significant about this notebook is that it features a serial port, FireWire, DisplayPort and Docking interfaces, making it ideal for not only business users with external displays but technical departments that need to interface with IT equipment.  This notebook is also suited to Government and is a standard SITA product." says Deon Botha, HP PSG product specialist.
 
The notebook features HP Innovation 'durafinish' and alloy support structure which enhances its durability. This notebook weights in at 2.5 kg as opposed to its predecessor, the 6545b which weighs in at 2.7 kg, making it more suited to travel usage.
 
The HP ProBook 6550b notebook, which replaces the HP ProBook 6540b is almost exactly the same as the HP ProBook 6555b version but features a new generation Intel Core i3, i5 or i7 processors.
 
" What makes the HP ProBook 6550b an amazing business tool is that certain models include integrated 3G which is becoming a must have in today's fast paced business environment" says Botha.
 
Replacing the HP ProBook 6440b, the HP ProBook 6450b is designed for the mobile user that wants the advantage of a smaller footprint and lighter notebook. With a 14” screen that features the same screen resolution as its larger counterparts and clocking in at 2.26 kg, this notebook is well suited for travelling executives. The HP ProBook 6450b also includes new generation Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processors, boosting performance with DDR3 RAM.

All three notebooks offer HP ProtectTools, which is a portfolio of security solutions ensuring your notebook is protected from any threats. HP QuickLook 3 a super convenient feature that allows users the capability to read/write offline email, calendar appointments, tasks etc without having to boot up. The 'DriveGuard' feature is an independent mounting mechanism that protects the internal hard drive from knocks and bumps” concludes Botha.
