Following the announcement of its Tegra 3-powered One X smartphone, HTC has unveiled two more editions to this new One series line-up.

HTC One V

First up is the company’s One V, which employs a similar unibody design to that of the HTC Legend. This smartphone (120.3 x 59.7 x 9.24 mm, 115 g) operates on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and is powered by a 1 GHz processor (make not specified).

The One V also sports a 3.7" (480 x 800 resolution) touchscreen, Beats Audio and a 5 MP auto-focus camera with smart LED flash and BSI (backside illumination) sensor for better low-light captures. It offers 4 GB of internal storage that is expandable via microSD memory card slot and also features Bluetooth 4.0 and 512 MB RAM.

HTC One S

HTC’s new One S sports a 4.3" qHD (540 x 960 resolution) touchscreen, Bluetooth 4.0, Beats Audio, support for HSPA+ 42 Mbps connectivity, a good dollop (1 GB) of RAM and offers 16 GB of internal storage. This smartphone (130.9 x 65 x 7.8 mm, 119.5 g) is powered by a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm S4 dual-core processor and operates on Android 4.0.

Its 8 megapixel auto-focus snapper camera features a smart LED flash and BSI sensor that enable this device to record full HD (1080p) videos, as opposed to the HD-Ready (720p) videos you can capture using the HTC One V. Just like the One X it also has a 1.3 MP front-facing camera for making 720p video calls.

HTC said that its One series will be broadly available around the globe as of April. No local release info is available yet.

“The best moments in life are captured with a photo or remembered by a song, so it was key for the HTC One series to improve these emotional experiences with an amazing camera and authentic sound experience,” said Peter Chou, CEO of HTC Corporation. “We are very focused on creating a camera and audio experience customers will love and use often and we believe the HTC One series delivers this in a way never seen on a phone before.”

In other mobile related news Samsung recently announced two new additions to its Galaxy smartphone range, namely the Galaxy Ace 2 and the Galaxy mini 2, whilst Research In Motion and Vodacom the launched BlackBerry Bold 9790 and Curve 9380 smartphones launched in SA.
