Slightly more for printer, savings on ink

Eastman Kodak Company is looking to shake-up the local inkjet printing market with the introduction of its line of Kodak All-in-One Printers for the home and home office. Traditionally, inkjet printers are sold at a low price, with margins being made on ink. Now Kodak is trying things a bit differently – asking a higher price for the printer, but cutting cost on ink. According to Kodak, its printing systems have the lowest average cost-per- page.

From 21 September 2011, the Kodak HERO 5.1 All-in-One Printer, ESP Office C2170 All-in-One Printer, ESP C310 All-in-One Printer and ESP C110 All-in-One Printer will be available in Incredible Connection and Kodak Express stores, and online at www.incredible.co.za.

The Kodak HERO 5.1

The HERO 5.1 All-in-One Printer is Google Cloud Print Ready and Email Print Ready, allowing consumers to print from anywhere. Retailing for a recommended price of R1299, it includes:

·         Print on the go from your smartphone, computer, or tablet with Google Cloud Print enabled apps.
·         Send emails and attachments to your printer from anywhere, using any email account, with Kodak Email Print Service.
·         Easy Wi-Fi setup to connect to your wireless home network, Wi-Fi 802.11 n.
·         Smart Sensor technology automatically identifies paper, size and amount.
·         Automatic two-sided printing.
·         2.4” colour display.
 
The Kodak ESP Office 2170
 
 The ESP Office 2170 All-in-One Printer for the home office, retailing for a recommended price of R1499, includes:

·         Print, copy, scan and fax  in a compact design.
·         Easy Wi-Fi setup to connect to your wireless home network, Wi-Fi 802.11 n.
·         Send scans to your PC, email, network folders, memory cards or USB flash drive.
·         Print photos in multiple sizes directly from your iPhone, iPad, BlackBerry or Android OS Device with the Kodak Pic Flick App.
·         Robust 150-sheet document paper tray and 25-page automatic document feeder.
·         Accomplish business critical tasks  with the easy-to-use control panel and 1.5” display.
·         Perfect Page Technology improves the quality of scanned documents even when the original is less than perfect
·         Kodak All-in-One Printer Home Center Software to do more  – including 3D photo printing and printing pictures from video.
The Kodak ESP C310
 
The ESP C310 All-in-One Printer retailing for a recommended price of R999, includes:

·         Easy Wi-Fi setup to connect to your wireless home network, Wi-Fi 802.11 n.
·         Print photos in multiple sizes directly from your iPhone, iPad, BlackBerry or Android OS Device with the Kodak Pic Flick App.
·         View and print photos without a PC using the 1.5” colour display and media card slot – supports SD, MMC, and Memory Stick
·         Built-in intelligent paper sensor that automatically adjusts printer settings based on paper size and type.
·         Perfect Page Technology improves the quality of your scanned document even when your original is less than perfect.
·         Kodak All-in-One Printer Home Center Software to do more – including 3D photo printing and printing pictures from video.
 
And some Kodak ink cartridges
 
 
These printers use Kodak 30 Series inks, available in the following standard and XL cartridges:
·         Kodak Black Ink Cartridge, 30 - up to 335 black text pages. R99.
·         Kodak Black Ink Cartridge, 30 XL - up to 670 black text pages. R189.
·         Kodak Colour Ink Cartridge, 30 - up to 275 colour pages. R149.
·         Kodak Colour Ink Cartridge, 30 XL - up to 550 colour pages. R299.

Okay. I can buy something like this....
Its like buying a car worth R1 mil, and paying a less than R10 for petrol
