News: LG Optimus 7 specs leaked

According to Engadget, Korean language newspaper, the Korea Economic Daily, reportedly gained access to one of the upcoming LG Optimus 7 smartphones way ahead of its release date (which is still unannounced).

According to the paper the smartphone will be equipped with a 3.8” 800 x 480 display, a 1500 mAh battery, 16 GB of built-in storage and a powerful 1 GHz processor.

But it's not the specs that have captured the attention, rather the inclusion of voice to text commands. Apparently the device, which runs on the as yet unreleased Windows Phone 7 operating system (OS), will be able to write text messages and emails by just the sound of a user’s voice.

The phone is also equipped with unique multimedia sharing technology that will allow users to send files directly from the phone's media galleries to an enabled Wi-Fi device in the area. HD videos, photo's and music files can be transferred in this way to TV's, notebooks or other home theater systems.

At this stage not even a Korean release date for the Optimus 7 is forthcoming, so needless to say no local information is available. It will be interesting to see whether the voice to text feature works and if it will have support for multiple languages when the device launches, we certainly hope so.
