Flying in the face of the cliché that you don’t get anything for free, MTN has announced a new Mahala Data promotion that offers its customers free additional value on selected internet bundles.

The promotion provides customers who purchase an existing 10 MB internet bundle for R10 with an additional 10 MB of data for free, which essentially means that customers will have 20 MB of data for the price of the 10 MB offering. Customers who purchase the existing 75 MB internet bundle for R49 will get an additional 25 MB of data, increasing the size of the current data bundle to 100 MB without raising the price.

MTN’s new Mahala Data promotions will apply to existing and new customers on MTN PayAsYouGo, TopUp, and Contract packages for once-off and recurring bundles.Additionally, the company is offering these promotional internet bundles with new MTN contracts.

Serame Taukobong, chief marketing officer at MTN SA, has stressed, however, that the promotion only applies to the 10 MB and 75 MB bundles, and not to any other MTN data bundle.

“We are confident that this promotion will enable customers to browse the internet for longer and more affordably suit their budget,” she explained.

To the point

“The internet has become an integral part of our everyday lives with people doing business using the internet and connecting with family and friends on social networks (such as Facebook and Twitter),” she added.

“In this regard, it is therefore a key goal for MTN to enable many more consumers to experience the power of the internet through easy and affordable access, as part of our contribution to the 2020 South Africa vision for broadband for all,” concluded Taukobong.
