Microsoft announced the final release (Release to Manufacturing) of Windows 7 Service Pack 1  (SP1) as well as Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 to the company’s OEM partners.
On the 16th of February Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 will become available for Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) and TechNet subscribers as well as Volume License customers. On February 22nd, Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 will become generally available for customers to download from the Microsoft Download Center, or as an update on Windows Update.
According to the company Windows 7 SP1 will assist clients in keeping their PCs well supported by delivering ongoing updates, a lot of which have been made previously available via Windows Update. This service pack also includes client-side support for RemoteFX and Dynamic Memory, which are two new virtualization features enabled in Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1.
