Modern Warfare 3 release date leaked
By Johan Keyter 16 May 2011 | Categories: newsAs happens so often in the modern internet-driven world, it seems Activision's PR team has suffered a bit of a leak regarding its highly anticipated upcoming title, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
According to IGN, a recently leaked retail poster for the game reveals its release date to be 08.11.11, or 8 November this year. Citing insider retail sources, IGN stated its belief in the poster's authenticity, also stating that it came from an Australian retailer.
The image on the poster will also serve as the box art for the upcoming game, and follows a string of other leaks detailing things like locations, multiplayer modes and even the game's storyline and ending.
Modern Warfare 3 is already set up for a heated battle with arch rivals Battlefield 3, with DICE's title set for a release during the first week of November. The releases will also function as a throw-down of sorts between the gaming industry's two biggest publishers, Activision and EA, both bound to spend millions in marketing before the games' release.
