According to eWeek, Nokia, has decided to delay shipment of its new Nokia E7 smartphone until early in 2011.

The phone, which runs on the new Symbian^3 operating system (OS), has apparentely been delayed due to Nokia wanting to ensure a better user experience. That means no new Nokia's for the Christmas season folks.

“To ensure the best possible user experience on the E7 we have decided to begin shipping in early 2011,” said Nokia spokesperson Joseph Gallo. “Naturally, the exact timing of when the device is available in shops will vary from market to market.”

The Nokia E7 will feature a 4" AMOLED capacitive display, full QWERTY keyboard, handwriting recognition, dual cameras, one of which is an 8 MP camera allowing the smartphone to capture HD (720p) videos and of course the Symbian^3 OS.

The E7 was originally planned to launch in December 2010, but since the global launch has now been delayed, the local South African launch will most likely also be postponed. No information on when the Finnish company plans to introduce the device locally is available as of yet, but for those looking for some Nokia goodness this Christmas, the N8 and C7 are currently available.
