Sharp and Samsung have finally arrived at a settlement after three years of legal battles over the use of LCD display patents.

On Friday the two electronic giants signed a settlement agreement in order to bring an end to their patent violation clashes. Starting in 2007 Sharp and Samsung have filed lawsuits against each other in the U.S., Japan, Korea and Europe, in which both claimed that the other company breached its patents for LCD panels and modules.

According to the settlement agreement, Sharp and Samsung must now promptly withdraw all lawsuits against each other, while both companies are allowed to mutually use the disputed patents relating to LCD panels and modules. The financial agreements of the settlement have not been disclosed by either company.
