Sony VAIO C series becomes available locallyBy Staff Writer 21 April 2011 | Categories: news
At the end of February Sony Electronics announced its latest line of notebook PCs, the VAIO C Series. With this new range, Sony has broken away from conventional colour schemes, going with brightly coloured and eye-blinding neon orange, -pink and green (on certain models).
Sony SA has now revealed that the VAIO C series is available locally at Sony dealers countrywide.
This new notebook range is powered by either the i5 or i7, Intel’s second generation Core CPUs, also boasting an AMD Radeon 1 GB Hybrid graphics processing unit (AMD Radeon HD 6630M) to give it a graphical boost.
In addition to its capable processing duo, the VAIO C Series is also equipped with a variety of useful features, including a HD web camera powered by “Exmor” sensor, HDMI out (3D supported), Quick Web Access, and a backlit keyboard.
HDMI out allows users to display HD content on their HDTV via an HDMI cable, and the Quick Web Access allows users to access the internet, without even requiring a full boot-up into the Windows operating system.
The notebook PC’s backlit keyboard lights up automatically in the dark, whilst the USB 3.0 (4 Gbps) transfers data at up to ten times the speed of USB2.0 (480 Mbps).
There are two models, the Core i7-powered CB17 and the Core i5-running CB15 version, carrying respective retail prices of R12 999 (available in black) and R9 999 (available in black, green, orange and pink).
