After recently becoming the first operator in South Africa to commercially launch its LTE (4G) service, local mobile operator Vodacom reveals the details behind its new Extra Time promotion for Prepaid and Top Up customers.

This promotion enables these clients to talk for an hour and only pay for the first three minutes. It will run from today (15 October) up until 31 October 2012.

The Vodacom Extra Time promotion is available between 07:00 and 20:00 on weekdays and subscribers need to dial *111# once off at no charge to activate it. Even if the call continues into the second hour, customers will still be charged for the first three minutes only, whilst the next 57 minutes will be free.

This promotion applies to calls made to other Vodacom customers only. Cellphone numbers of customers who have ported to other networks can be identified by a beep tone before the call connects.

For more information customers can contact customer care on 111 free from a Vodacom cellphone or 082 111 from any other phone, or email customercare@vodacom.co.za.

Commenting on the Vodacom Extra Time promotion, Phil Patel, chief consumer officer at Vodacom said: “This promotion will reward all our Prepaid and Top Up customers by offering them great value savings on voice calls this summer. This is the type of value that our customers can expect this festive season.”

In related news, Vodacom’s previous promotion, the Day-Night Double promotion provided  Vodacom customers with up to two hours free talk time when they recharged with R29 airtime or more.
