Ever wished you could replace your pen and copious amounts of note-, memo- and sketch pads, with a single electronic solution? Well the Boogie Board Rip LCD Writing Tablet enables students, artists and diligent note-takers to do just that, turning it into a “green device” since it enables users to severely cut down on their paper usage.

This portable (179 x 282 x 13 mm, 325 g) device slides easily into your notebook bag or student backpack. By using its large 9.5" pressure-sensitive LCD writing surface, you are able to compose notes and draw pictures or tablets and graphs, using the included stylus that conveniently slides into place on a slot on top of the tablet.

Create, store & erase

Other than its portability and eco-friendly credentials, the Boogie Board Rip brings another big benefit to the writing tablet table. The big difference between the Rip and other Boogie Board models is the ability to save notes and sketches as high-resolution vector portable document files (PDFs), via the Boogie Board’s internal memory (8 MB).

Although this sounds puny, it enables users to store around 200 average-sized (30-50 kilobytes each, maximum: 192 KB) PDFs on the device. All you have to do to save notes is to press the save button at the top of the writing tablet, and if you want to create a new note you simply hit the erase button to start on a blank canvas.

Additionally, there is a switch to enable and disable the erase button in order to avoid accidental pressing it and loosing your work as a result. Unfortunately, you aren’t able to review previously saved notes on the device, after you have started a new one. You can transfer these to PC for storage as well as organisation later, and if you happen to have a PDF editing program such as Adobe Illustrator, you can also continue to work on or edit these later. Transferring your PDFs to PC is done by connecting the writing tablet to your computer via the included micro USB to USB connection cable.
