That little something extra

Publish date: 30 January 2009 by Michael Joubert

Is your printer missing that little bit of extra functionality? Maybe you need some photo printing, scanning or copying?. Epson's Stylus Photo RX690 does all this and more.

What the RX690 does, it does well, with photos and scans on par with the best we've tested. Photos can be printed off USB flash memory sticks, or directly from SD or CF memory cards. Thanks to the 2.5” LCD screen you can select the images you want printed and even do some basic editing on them. Being able to scan directly to flash memory was a bonus, and we appreciate the Epson's CD and DVD printing.

The RX690's functionality is hindered somewhat by bad button layout. It seems all over the place and does not compare well to similar offering on the market.

That said this Epson remains high on our list of all-in-one choice and with an RRP of just R3,890.00 Incl Vat it isn't priced badly either. For more information can contact Epson SA on +27 11 465 9621.
