Portable power banks are a dime a dozen these days, but the Red-E RC25 offers something a bit extra. Firstly, the charging cable is connected to the body and its microUSB head tucks away neatly by its side, meaning you won’t forget the cable while on the go.

Secondly, and this is important for iPhone users, there is an 8pin adapter stored inside the body of the RC25. Clip it onto the microUSB charger and you’re good to go (it’s a bit difficult to do this since you have to twist the cable). You do however still need a microUSB charger to recharge the RC25, which should be fine for most Android users.

Size wise the Red-E has a 2500 mAh capacity, which should be sufficient to charge most batteries once. The battery is about as thin as most smartphones, and it should fit comfortably in a notebook bag or cubbyhole.

The Red-E RC25 Ultraslim Powerbank retails for R250 and is available from retailers such as Cape Union Mart, Sportsmans Warehouse, Outdoor Warehouse, Incredible Connection and Due South.

PROS
