Internet service provider Afrihost is offering double the amount of data to users of its standard mobile data packages, up until the end of February 2014.

According to the company, any customer on a standard package will receive double their data allocation for the same price. New packages will go live for new signups as of today (14 November), whilst existing clients will receive their free data allocations from 1 December. The firm said that all of its mobile data prices and promotions will be guaranteed up until the end of February 2014, at which time these will be reviewed.

Clients on a 1 GB package for R99 per month will now receive an additional GB at no extra cost, effectively halving the price per GB from R99 per month to just R49.50 for that package.

Afrihost’s customers on the Mobile Two package currently receive 2 GB plus 3 GB free data for R145 per month and will hence not have their data allocations doubled. Mobile Three clients, however, will now get 3 GB as well as another 4 GB for free at just R197 (less than R29 per GB).

Additionally, Afrihost is also introducing three new mobile data packages (also with doubled data) in the form of a 5 GB, 7 GB and 10 GB data packages. These offer mobile data from less than R25 per GB.
