Remember those old classic monster movies? Well Universal Pictures want to bring them back for a new generation of moviegoers, with the reveal of its Dark Universe, described as a "world of Gods and Monsters."

Kicking off the Marvel and DC-esque project, where all the monster movies will be connected in some way, is The Mummy, which stars Tom Cruise (Mission Impossible) going up against Princess Ahmanet. Also appearing in the film is Russell Crowe (Gladiator), who will be taking on the role of Dr. Jekyll, but whether or not he'll truly be friend or foe is still unclear.

Along with those two iconic monsters, the Dark Universe will introduce Johnny Depp (Pirates of the Caribbean) and Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men) as the Invisible Man and Frankenstein's monster. The latter is set to take his big screen bow in the Bride of Frankenstein, which is currently slated for a February 2019 release.

Our only question at this stage is whether Dracula and the Werewolf will feature too.
