If you're a massive Final Fantasy fiend, chances are you tuned in to the hour-long Square Enix YouTube livestream event last night. If however, you tucked away in bed to stave off the cold, here are the cliffnotes.

The session was hosted by Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata, who provided viewers with some info on the game's development and feedback he received from those that played the game's first demo several weeks ago.

Although a release date for Final Fantasy XV was not detailed, Tabata did confirm news of FF XV's upcoming demo titled Episode Duscae (featured below). According to Tabata, the demo has had its 2.0 patch readied for gamers to get stuck into. Unfortunately though, gamers will have to wait till next week to enjoy it, 9 June to be more specific.

Tabata also served up some changes to the game's storyline, with Luna set to replace Stella as the female protagonist. Added to this, Tabata stated that more detail around Luna's role in the game would be revealed in coming months, which leads us to believe that Final Fantasy XV could very well be a 2016 release.

If you're feeling bored and have some bandwidth to burn, check out the hour long livestream below.
