In an effort to get viewers more engaged with 360-degree videos, Google recently launched its Spotlight Stories channel on YouTube. While 360-degree content on the video platform has mainly consisted of event coverage or vlogs, the company has been teaming up with creatives to make content with far greater production value. To that end, Google enlisted the services of Fast & Furious director Justin Lin to make a five-minute long monster movie called Help

The premise of the film is fairly simple. A meteor shower in downtown Los Angeles, California, results in a number of aliens terrorising the city. There's a ton of CGi used to pull off the film, but most important, is the ability to explore all angles of the movie itself. As such, viewers cannot remain passive while watching Help, as you're constantly navigating with the 360-degree directional buttons to track the action.

Whether or not YouTube users will react well to this type of 360-degree content remains to be seen. Hit play on the video below and judge for yourself.
