First trailer for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided sees light of day
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 10 April 2015 | Categories: newsSadly, Square Enix was beaten to the punch in announcing the latest installment in the Deus Ex series, Mankind Divided, as the trailer (seen below) leaked its way onto the internet. Square Enix's hand might of been forced slightly, but the company has now "officially" unveiled the game, although a release date still remains a mystery.
The trailer is more cinematic than gameplay related, and starts off in the same way as The Bourne Legacy, as our protagonist, Adam Jensen lies lifeless in the ocean. This image is interspliced with shots of Jensen tracking down one of the augmented terrorists his Interpol team have been tasked with handling.
This new Deus Ex installment is set two years after the events of 2011's Deus Ex: Human Revolution, which garnered plenty of rave reviews and a few fan-made movies. In those two years, it appears that Jensen has lost none of his edge, taking out multiple enemies with ease, as well as moving stealthily through tight confines. He also seems to be wrestling with a more existential crisis, as he has to hunt down augmented humans just like himself.
With no release date confirmed as of yet, all we know for now is the Mankind Divided is set for a cross-platform debut on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
