It's been a busy month for Google. After the company detailed its new range of products, all powered by Google Assistant at their cores, they are reportedly turning their attention back to search. According to Search Engine Land, Google will be indexing sites differently on mobile devices compared to their desktop counterparts. 

This slight difference has been in effect for a few months now, notes Engadget, but the fully fledged move has not taken place yet. The next couple months may see that change, however, as Google's own trend analyst Gary Illyes, says the high volume of mobile users utilising search has prompted the company to ensure that version is fresher and more frequently updated than the desktop one. 

He did, however, state that search on desktops will certainly remain. It will simply be less up to date than that of mobile's search results. How this will effect the Google desktop experience remains to be seen, but it's clear that mobile is becoming a growing focus for the company.
