We first saw the HTC Grip at this year's Mobile World Congress. It was one of the more intriguing fitness bands, partly because it was developed in conjunction with American apparel company Under Armour. The wearable device was initially scheduled for release later this year, but now it has been pushed back to Q1 2016.

According to The Verge, the HTC Grip was intended to appear alongside a host of other fitness focused devices from the Taiwanese manufacturers, but they too, have been pushed back one more quarter. This is in fact the second time that HTC has placed the Grip's rollout on hold, having done so in July this year. In a statement at the time, HTC decided to align the Grip with its "Connected Fitness" platform.

While we'll still have to wait a few more months till the Grip comes our way, the move into fitness wearables is an interesting one, as HTC has struggled to keep pace with other smartphone manufacturers. As such, devices like the Grip and Vive VR headset, might just be the ticket.
