Overwatch has a new hero on the way. The youngest daughter of current character Tjolbörn, Brigitte Lindholm is a support unit, aiding to fix and repair the damaged armour of other characters, thanks to her background as an engineer and fighting alongside Reinhardt.

Her origin story has been revealed in a recently posted video by developer Blizzard, with the character having already been available to PC users of the game yesterday. As for when she'll be joining the action proper, Blizzard is set to reveal all the details soon. 

In the interim, the company has listed some of Brigitte's abilities, such as Inspire, which heals nearby allies over time. Added to this are Barrier Shield which sets up an energy wall that can absorb a limited amount of damage, as well as Shield Bash that stuns enemy targets in her path. 

With Brigitte looking like a Lite version of Reinhardt, it should be interesting to see if gamers find a use for her in Overwatch battles.
