Prey, the latest game coming out of Bethesda Softworks, has finally been dated, for imminent release on the 5th of May this year and is launching on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

The first person sci-fi shooter, is being developed by Arkane Studios, and if you have played Dishonored 1 (review) or Dishonored 2 (review), you can tell that studio’s style in there in full force, as evidenced by the latest trailer below. Considering how fantastic those titles were, this is only good news.

In case you need a quick refresher on the story, you awaken aboard Talos I, an immense space station orbiting the moon in the year 2032, and find yourself as the key subject of an experiment meant to alter humanity forever. As things invariably do in these kinds of ventures, your trip has gone badly wrong (and presumably, in the ways a travel agent can’t fix) The space station has been overrun by hostile aliens and you are now being hunted.

This leaves you to dig into the dark secrets of Talos I and your own past, while battling for your survival using the tools found on the station, along (and here is where the Dishonored vibe comes in) some mind-bending abilities to defeat your enemies.

As is often the case, acting early has its own rewards. Fans who pre-order Prey will receive the exclusive Cosmonaut Shotgun Pack, which consists of Morgan Yu’s family heirloom Margrave shotgun and tools to fight threats aboard Talos I. These include three Neuromods players can spend to acquire new abilities, two Medkits, a Fabrication plan to create the Shotgun and Ammo, a starter kit for building tools and weapons, and a unique upgrade to help players preserve their limited resources. Take a look at the trailer below if you need more convincing.
