Sony drops the bass with Sony WF-XB700 EXTRA BASS earbudsBy Staff Writer 24 July 2020 | Categories: news
Wireless earbuds are the hot trend right now, and Sony believes dropping the bass is what will get consumers interested. The new Sony WF-XB700 EXTRA BASS earbuds are the latest addition to its Truly Wireless product range, designed for those who prefer their music bass-heavy. Sony notes the EXTRA BASS technology on these earbuds creates seriously powerful and punchy low-end sounds.
As far as fit is concerned, the ergonomic design of the WF-XB700 (weighing 8 g each) makes contact with three different points on your ear, with four different sized silicone rubber earbuds included to make sure they fit snuggly.
Battery life on these are up to 9 hours, and of course comes with a charging case that offers another full charge, with Sony stating 10 minutes of quick charging provides 60 minutes of music playback. If you are going to use this while running or exercising, the IPX4 water resistance rating will definitely help.
We would not recommend any earbuds that don’t have onboard button control, and luckily the WF-XB700 headphones include a button on each. It not only lets you play, stop, or skip through tracks and adjust the volume, but also offer an easy way to access your smartphone’s voice assistant and make and receive calls hands-free. Bluetooth version 5.0 is onboard, offering connectivity for approximately 10 m with line of sight.
Unfortunately these earbuds do not provide noise-cancellation.
As far as availability is concerned, you can pick up a pair of Sony WF-XB700 EXTRA BASS earbuds for R2 999, which is on the higher end of the price spectrum.
