Last month we received a teaser trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. With very little known about the upcoming title, more details are set to be revealed come 17 May when publisher Activision debuts a fully fledged trailer for the game.

That has not stopped some information leaking ahead of time though, with reports suggesting that Black Ops 4 will not have a traditional campaign mode that gamers have come to expect from the franchise.

To that end, sources tell Polygon that developer Treyarch has struggled to complete the campaign for the game as the 12 October release date edges closer. In an effort to give gamers bang for their buck, Treyarch is said to be expanding the multiplayer aspects of Black Ops 4, as well as placing greater emphasis on other modes like its popular Zombie ones.

Whether or not fans of the franchise will be pleased by this development if it turns out to be true, remains to be seen. With multiplayer often the more significant of the gameplay modes for Call of Duty titles, not to mention the mediocre storylines that they've yielded recently, perhaps this is a blessing in disguise?
