Stranger Things pretty much dominated the streaming screen last year. The first season of this 80s-styled sci-fi horror TV series was a runaway hit, with the likes of Stephen King and Steven Spielberg serving as inspiration for the Netflix show's creators. Now Stephen King himself is taking a crack at making a similar TV series titled Castle Rock, teaming up with J.J. Abrams (Star Trek, Star Wars: The Force Awakens) in the process.

It was the latter which announced the news via Twitter, posting an image of a letter with the following  message, "WHAT IS THE HOAX IN THE FOREST?" Below that rather cryptic sentence was a link to a YouTube teaser video (pasted below) for Castle Rock which features a series of titles from King's short stories.

In fact, keen fans of the author will recognise the name Castle Rock as a fictional town where he has set a number of his stories in the past. Precisely which one will serve as the plot for the TV series, or whether King will pen an entirely original story, is unclear at the moment. Nevertheless, with two talents like this onboard, we can't wait to watch it, whenever Hulu plans to bring it to screens.
