Good news for Mario fans on Android. Super Mario Run has now received a fixed date for arrival on Google Play: 23 March. Nintendo has provided the date via a Twitter post, noting that Android users will be able to download the version 2.0.0 update.

Currently the game is only available for iOS devices, and was made available in December of last year. The game is free, but a purchase is required to have access to all the modes. The current version on iTunes requires a solid 207 MB of data, so for those only on mobile data, you might want to find a Wi-Fi hotspot.

Super Mario Run looks a lot like the first console game, with Mario having to run past obstacles to rescue Princess Peach from Bowser’s filthy castle. There is also Toad Rally where you test your skills against friends or other players from across the globe, and a Kingdom Builder to help players construct their own Mario worlds, with over 100 different items to help with the task.

Fans can pre-order the Mario’s first venture onto Android here, or check some gameplay footage in the video below.
