The Boys came second only to the amazing Watchmen as our favourite superhero series of last year. Acerbic in nature and comedic by heart, The Boys as television actually managed to surpass the quality of Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s comic book. Season 2 is on the horizon, debuting 4 September on Amazon Prime, and has now received a NSFW trailer.

(Minor SPOILERS ahead)

There is a lot of explaining that needs to be done after the bombshell that dropped at the end of the final episode. Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) and his team of superhero killers are on the run, with the US Government and Homelander (Antony Starr) on their tail. Butcher, however, promises his team he’s a man with a plan. What exactly that is, and if it will work, will be laid out in Season 2.

The trailer is, like that of the first season, NSFW. While we don’t get to see babies shooting laser beams, we do get a lot of head explosions and swearing. One of the things we’re looking forward to, is seeing more of Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara), who in the comic book is absolutely deadly in action. We can imagine that her role in stopping Vought International in its quest to take over the world will only increase in importance. We also catch a brief glimpse of Stormfront (Aya Cash), the latest member of The Seven.

Have a look at the trailer below to see if The Boys Season 2 can maintain the hype of the first one.
