With Comic Con done for 2017, you may be thinking all the good trailers have come and gone. This past weekend, however, proved that wasn't the case, with a few notable ones seeing the light of day, including a second trailer for Detroit, our first look at Suburbicon and a foul mouthed red band for Ingrid Goes West.

Ingrid Goes West (red band trailer)

It seems like Aubrey Plaza (Parks and Recreation) is carving out quite the niche for dark comedy roles. With her turn in The Little Hours as a crazy nun, the insanity of her Father John Misty performance, as well as her take on the Shadow King in Legion, she has taken on another weird character for Ingrid Goes West. A mix of Spring Breakers and Swimfan from what we can tell, the film's latest red band trailer shows just how unhinged Ingrid truly is.

The Vault

Not your usual bank heist caper, The Vault stars James Franco (127 Hours) as a bank manager that seems to be hiding something. Unfortunately for the would-be bank robbers, this particular vault is housing a lot more than money.

Best bit: The bank robbers running scared. 

Brad's Status

We enjoy a good Ben Stiller comedy as much as the next person, provided it's not Zoolander 2, but every now and then it's nice to see him flex his dramatic acting muscles. In Brad's Status, Stiller takes his son a road trip as the latter prepares to go to college, and the former thinks back to his own college days and how much more successful his friends have become. If you enjoy a good mid-life crisis movie tinged with some humour, Brad's Status may be for you.

Suburbicon

Written by the Coen brothers, directed by George Clooney and starring Matt Damon and Julianne Moore, there are a ton of Oscar winners attached to Suburbicon, which means it has to be good, right? Well the trailer certainly appears to show promise, with Damon's character taking on the mob, one hitman at a time in this dark comedy. 

Release date: 27 October (United States)
Best bit: Enjoying a much deserved sandwich after killing an intruder. 

Detroit

A film based on true events, in which three African American men were killed at the Algiers Hotel in 1967, Detroit tells the story of what happened that night and the impending civil unrest that resulted from it. Directed by Hurt Locker's Kathryn Bigelow, it features the likes of John Boyega (The Force Awakens) and John Krasinski (The Office). With the current racial climate in America far from mild, this film comes at an apt time.

Best bit: Boyega's performance while being interrogated.
