Amateur and pro photographers alike can look forward to a highlight on the photo calendar with the 2010 Photo & Film Expo opening tomorrow.

Following on the success of the inaugural event in 2009, the 2010 Photo & Film Expo, held in the Coca-Cola Dome in Northgate, Johannesburg, now has more exhibition stalls, double the number of workshops and a full representation of the industry.

Big industry players such as Canon, Leica, Nikon, Hasselblad, Olympus, Sony, Panasonic and Fujifilm all have their latest and greatest cameras and lenses on display at the event.
Photographers can also benefit from free workshops, with over 30 specialist presenters and live demos taking place. Some of the presenters include Walter Borchenko discussing medium format photography, Johan Pretorius talking about sports photography and Patrick Toselli giving finer details about fashion photography. Luckily cameras are not the only products on display, since the accessory market is also well catered for with printers and scanners, tripods, PC software & hardware, lighting, backdrops and underwater accessories also making an appearance.
Tickets to the event will set you back R80 while kids under 16 goes in for R40. There is also a limited number of discounted weekend passes available (R200) which starts going on sale Thursday morning. The Expo opens at 9 am and closes at 5 pm. For more info visit
