Publish date: 02 August 2010 by Johan Keyter

Amazon.com recently announced that Stieg Larsson, the best-selling author of The Millennium Trilogy, has become the first author to sell more than a million eBooks online.

He is now the first and currently only member of the new ‘Kindle Million Club’, which recognises authors whose work has sold more than a million copies on the Kindle Store.

The popularity of eBooks have skyrocketed in recent months, with Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos recently announcing that they sold 143 Kindle ebooks for every 100 hardcover books during the last quarter.

Larsson’s three books; The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest are all in the Kindle top 10 best-selling books list.

“Larsson’s books have captivated millions of readers around the world and ignited a voracious interest in the lives of its main characters,” said Russ Grandinetti, Vice President of Kindle Content.

Customers can buy all three of Larsson’s books from the Kindle Store and read them on the go. The Kindle and Kindle DX are the obvious choices but users can also view their literary masterpieces on an iPod touch, BlackBerry, PC, Mac, iPad or Android device.
