Despite recent announcements that HP was considering splitting off its PSG division in part or in full, the company has nonetheless launched the expansion of its Elite business desktop portfolio with its Compaq 8200 Elite All-in-One Business Desktop, which includes Intel second-generation Core vPro technology. The All-in-one PC, which is aimed at enterprise and mid-market users, has a 23” full HD LED monitor along with integrated collaboration tools that allow businesses to connect to co-workers at the office, across town or in different countries.

These include an integrated webcam, microphone, and speakers for streamlined remote face-to-face communication. The PC  also comes with HP Virtual Rooms, which enables businesses to conduct business presentations, team meetings, training events and classes in an easy-to-use online conference center. As befitting its enterprise focus, the PC further includes several advanced HP Elite-class security tools to help protect critical business data, including a standard embedded TPM 1.2 compliant security chip for hardware-based encryption, as well as increased personal encryption through HP’s full suite of HP ProtectTools, such as HP DriveLock, HP Digitalpass, and HP Face Recognition.

The PC supports up to 8 GB of DDR3 SDRAM system memory and includes two memory slots, a mini PCI Express (PCIe) slot and drive bay. Additionally, it offers expanded solid state drive (SSD) capacity options for faster data access, quieter and cooler operation and greater durability than standard hard drives. The company claims the HP Compaq 8200 Elite All-in-One PC  will deliver up to 40% better performance, 15% faster hard drive access and reduced downtime via remote IT management.

According to Charl Snyman, the vice president and general manager of HP Personal Systems Group, Europe, Middle East and Africa, the PC is another industry first in its Elite desktop family.  “The HP Compaq 8200 Elite All-in-One delivers unmatched hardware and software innovation to move the needle in the all-in-one category,” he added.
