ISP Internet Solutions has won the Airports Company of South Africa (ACSA) tender to provide exclusive broadband and telephony access to eight national airports. The deal is aimed at ensuring that all ACSA airports provide world-class internet services to both local and international travelers.

A number of different technology sets are included in the deal such as WI-FI (wireless access), fixed line internet access and Voice over IP (VoIP). Installation on a R1-million investment at the new King Shaka International Airport in Kwa-Zulu Natal has already started.

WI-FI, fixed line internet access, VoIP, mobile VoIP and internet connected workstations will be installed for public and business use in the airports, with several internet connected workstations to be placed in public areas as well as airport lounges. Businesses operating within the airports will also be provided with internet and telephony connectivity by Internet Solutions.

“We are delighted about the deal, winning this tender against big names in the industry confirms IS’s success in being the leading supplier of internet and telephony in this country,” says Justin Spratt, general manager of Wi-Fi and VoIP Mobile at Internet Solutions.
