Nokia today launched the latest device operating on its Symbian^3 platform, the E7, in Sandton, Johannesburg. This BlackBerry-hunting smartphone targeted at business users, boasts a sliding-tilt 4" ClearBlack AMOLED (640 x 360 pixels) capacitive touch-screen along with a full QWERTY keyboard. 
 
This pocket-friendly (123.7 x 62.4 x 13.6 mm, weighs 176 g) device sports an 8 MP camera with dual LED flash that, like the C7’s and N8’s snappers, is able to record HD (720p) video. It also features 16 GB of internal storage space, USB-On-The-Go, HDMI ouput, WLAN IEEE802 11 n, 3G HSDPA and GPS with aGPS support with the Finnish manufacturer offering life-time free navigation via Ovi Maps.
 
The Nokia E7 provides users with direct, secure and real-time access to email, calendar, contacts, tasks as well as a corporate directory via Microsoft Exchange servers, and Office Communicator Mobile, developed by the Finnish manufacturer’s new partner Microsoft.
 
 
“Following on from the success of our communicator devices, the Nokia E7 incorporates a touch screen and our most advanced QWERTY keyboard to date, which is a combination that ensures the business user is able to operate in or out of the office,” said Mark Strathmore, business to business manager at Nokia South Africa.
  
Nokia’s E7 is estimated to retail for a price of R5999 in South Africa.
