After last week’s Followed by Famousness challenge, BlackBerry’s Touch Awesomeness competition enters week eight and calls upon entrants to let their photos do the talking.

This week’s challenge - Talking Photos

This week’s challenge has entrants uploading photos to the competition website, in order to use a Talking Photos tool to spice them up a bit. There is a total of six resizable animated mouths included with this tool, which users can place anywhere on their image and then type in what you want the mouth to say.

The more creative and amusing this talking photo’s message is, the more likely you are to earn the vote of users on the site. Entrants add ten points to their completion tally when they complete this challenge and upload their talking photos (only your first upload will earn you points). Additional points can be obtained from votes your pic receives (one point per vote).

Our experience

After last week’s Followed by Famousness challenge, we breathed a sigh of relief when we learned that we (as opposed to any celebrities) were in control of how many points we could potentially net.

Uploading the photo took mere seconds and we found the Talking Photos tool very simple to use. It enabled us to quickly browse through the available mouths on offer (we settled on Ghostface aka the Scream Mask).

After placing and resizing the mask, we put our collective brains through a thorough (it lasted well over ten seconds) idea storming session and came up with a modern tech take on those classic “Your momma...” jokes. Our Talking Photo says: “Your momma's so ugly she's got a face that even an Instagram filter couldn’t fix.”

About the BlackBerry Touch Awesomeness competition

BlackBerry’s browser-based Touch Awesomeness competition has entrants completing ten tasks of “Awesomeness” on a weekly basis, giving them a chance to net one of ten all-touch BlackBerry Curve 9380 smartphones. One of these sleek new offerings will be up for grabs each and every week.

Besides the chance to net an amazing new BlackBerry Curve smartphone, entrants will also earn a set amount of points for completing each week’s task. The person with the most points at the end of the ten weeks, will be able to drive off into the sunset in a new Audi A1 1.4 TFSI. Visit www.touchawesomeness.com to enter.
