Miniature rainbow coloured speakers for your laptop

Publish date: 29 January 2010 by Hanleigh Daniels

Divoom’s IRIS-02 USB-powered speakers are available in a delicious assortment of six colours, holding their own in the style department next to your new Macbook Pro or cool Tablet PC.

But they aren’t just for show, as their designer bark is backed up by a respectable 5 Watt (2.5 Watt x 2) RMS bite, not bad for small USB-powered speakers. The volume dial for the speakers is conveniently located at the top of one of the speakers, and we found the volume and quality of the sound good whether one is watching a concert DVD of the Black Eyed Peas or rocking to 30 seconds to Mars.

Of course you can also use the 3.5 mm jack to connect to your iPod or MP3 player to play the tunes stored on those devices as well. Although you are able to carry the Divooms around thanks to their miniature dimensions (69 x 85 x 65 mm), they don't come with a carrying case.

The Divoom’s IRIS-02 speakers go for a cool recommended retail price of R79. Phone Esquire for more info on 012-657-8500.

Excellent product. We bought these speakers and they are the best for my laptop.

Very good sound for the price. The power option is to plug the usb plug into an ac usb charger. (the charger body has a usb socket with DC output for any device). Still not totally portable, but great for taking away to hotel/motel/holiday accomm).

These don't have batteries built into them. you'll need to get an external battery for power, such as the Mili power crystal/miracle.

When i connect the 3.5 mm jack to my ipod i hear nothing, however it only works when the usb plug is connected to my laptop or computer. is there a way to just connect it to my ipod and listen to music?

Divoom is the best. I bought the iTour-Pop and I have to say its the best shopping move I have made in my life.

If you use the 3.5 mm jack directly to a cellphone or Mp3 player would it be able to power the speakers. Usually the USB bus supplies the power to the speakers to drive them?
