In mid-November, the highly anticipated return of Clarkson and co. via their new Amazon series, The Grand Tour, made its debut. As expected, there was quite a bit of frenzy surrounding the first episode, as fans of their previous escapades on Top Gear wanted to see what the trio was up to. So much so in fact, that The Grand Tour is the most pirated series in history, according to anti-piracy research firm Muso

The company estimates that the first episode was illegally downloaded 9.7 million times, with the second fairly close behind it at 6.4 million. The report, which was published by the Daily Mail, also claims that Britain accounted for 13.7% of all the illegal downloads to date.

The UK's Amazon subscription numbers also make for interesting reading, as Engadget points out, with only 2 million of the total 63 million users worldwide. By those figures almost five times the number of legal Amazon series users are pirating The Grand Tour. More worrying for Amazon, however, is that they've lost an estimated £3.2 million from the first episode. How the company aims to address this issue remains to be seen, and whether they can actually do anything about it is also uncertain.
