Apple's events for 2016 are zero for one at this stage. The iPhone SE unveiling earlier in the year was quite underwhelming, which has placed a bit more pressure on the Cupertino-based company to deliver for their second event. Long rumoured to be taking place on 7 September, Apple has confirmed the actual date as such, by sending out invites to select media.

While no official confirmation has been made on that front yet, the general consensus is that a new iPhone will be present, as well as refreshed MacBooks and possibly an updated Apple watch.

The event will also be live streamed and live blogged, with the former being exclusive to Safari browsers. For local Apple fans, it will begin at 19:00 (SAST) on 7 September, lasting for two hours. To that end, Apple likely has more than one device it's readying for debut.
