Bloodborne becomes commercial and critical successBy Ryan Noik 17 April 2015 | Categories: news
Bloodborne (review) may be difficult, unnerving, frustrating and creepy as hell, but it is also extremely popular. The game has racked up noteworthy sales, having sold more than a million copies to date. This is especially impressive when you consider that it is a new intellectual property.
Typically, these tend to either miss the mark and fail to achieve a fanbase, or they enthrall and generate a new one. It is the latter that seems to have been Bloodborne’s fate.
It is not entirely surprising, since From Software has a noted pedigree of creating difficult but enthralling games that, even when they grab you by the throat and repeatedly rip your heart out, are too compelling to set aside, and that is certainly an apt description of their latest title.
At the same time that the company celebrated Bloodborne’s success, it also addressed the game’s Achilles heel – its lengthy load times. The 1.03 update aimed at addressing the issue, will apparently become available by the end of April.
