Facebook wants its News Feed feature to be a success. One that ensures users never have to leave it - if their new Music Stories integration is anything to go by. This feature allows users to listen to 30 second clips of music shared via their respective Apple Music, Spotify or iTunes accounts.

For now the service is limited to Facebook's iOS app, with an Android port expected in coming weeks. Music Stories essentially dives into one's Spotify or Apple Music streams and repackages them into shorter clips using the Facebook app's native music player UI.

This move seems like a step in a far greater move for Facebook, as the company reportedly held talks with major music labels to discuss integration back in June this year, according to The Verge. Facebook says that Music Stories is an enhanced way to promote more sharing and conversations around music and artists, whether or not it can do just that will prove interesting to see develop.
