Following a successful MWC last year, much was expected from HMD Global and its Nokia Mobile branded devices this time round. While we must admit that it lacked impact of the Nokia 3310 from 2017, the company did make up for it by bringing five new phones to Barcelona this time round.

Kicking off with the rebooted feature phone, HMD Global unveiled a bright yellow 4G version of the Nokia 8810, which features the same slide design with the cover over the keypad being pulled down to reveal a very nostalgic look. Like the 3310, this offering is a bit more feature rich than other basic phones, with access to apps, emails and voice over LTE all available.

Next is the Nokia 1, which is meant to be HMD Global's ultra low-end device. It's built around the Go Edition of Android Oreo, and features the Xpress-On changeable covers that long time Nokia phone users should be familiar with. Landing in April in select regions, the Nokia 1 is recommended to retail around the $85 mark.

Now for the 'real' smartphones, starting with an updated Nokia 6. This version is said to be 60% faster than its predecessor thanks to a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor and 3 GB of RAM. Added to this is a unibody design, and like all the devices unveiled by HMD Global today, the Nokia 6 will be available in select regions in April.

Moving onto a larger device in the shape of the Nokia 7 Plus at 6". This phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset and has a 3800 mAh battery that HMD Global says can deliver up to two days use. On the rear is a dual lens setup, with 13 MP primary and 12 MP wide-angle camera on offer. An April release is also in the offing.

Rounded out the MWC 2018 collection is the Nokia 8 Sirocco. Designed pretty much like the Nokia 8 of last year, this version features a stainless steel frame and curved edge-to-edge 5.5" display. On the rear, HMD Global has stuck with a dual camera lens setup, which they say should yield a better performance in low light. Being the flagship offering, the Nokia 8 Sirocco is recommended to cost €749 and arrives in certain countries come early April.
